YouTube Android App Now capped at 1080p HDR Content

Google has made changes in resolution options for HDR videos in the YouTube android mobile app. Now your phone have any resolution supoorted but display is limited to the maximum limit of 1080p.

Before its allow up to 4k resolution options, which only operate on the Sony xperia XZ. Most other flagship smartphone have resolution support up to 1440p. High definition HDR videos did not run properly on Google YouTube app that's why this limit has been limited.

The HDR video drops frames when play up to 720p own Google pixel 2 phone, HDR videos is limited only on YouTube android app. Other apps like Netflix and amazon primary video run HDR 4K video operated at without any problem. Google has restricted resolution rather than improving its playback performances
